The pill and ovarian cancer

An article in The Lancet by the Collaborative Group on Epidemiological Studies of ovarian cancer confirms that use of oral contraceptives confers long term protection against ovarian cancer which can continue for up to 30 years after finishing the contraceptive. The study, which used 45 studies from 21 countries, suggested that 200,000 cases of ovarian cancer may have been prevented to date. More information can be found here.
