Help in Huddersfield
I am the Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist for Halifax, Huddersfield and surrounding areas. I support women and their families through all stages of investigations, surgery treatment and beyond with gynaecology cancers which includes ovarian cancer. Earlier this year many patients said that they would like a local support group. I have been very successful in starting this with the help of a local hotel, who kindly gave me the use of a lovely lounge room. Our meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month The George Hotel, St George s Square, Huddersfield, from 10 a.m. to l2 noon. Everyone is welcome for a coffee and a chat.

Ova the Rainbow
This gynaecological cancer support group is a registered charity established at the end of last year by Lynne Evans and Jane McNeil, specialist oncology nurses at the James Cook University Hospital (formerly South Cleveland). Meetings are held on the first Friday in the month In St Cuthbert's Church Hall, Ormsby, Middlesborough, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Car parking is free with easy access. Transport can be arranged if necessary. Refreshments are provided. Visiting speakers have given a number of interesting talks on topics such as aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki and other complimentary therapies.
