Let's Get in Touch

It seems to be so terribly important to speak to women who are going through the same experience. I have had letters from women who have gone through diagnosis, surgery and chemotherapy without meeting another woman with ovarian cancer. This is a terrifyingly lonely experience.

I would like to start an informal network of fone friends so that nobody has to suffer on her own. I feel that it is also important to involve supporters and survivors in the phone link. It is so hard for a husband, dear friend or family member to see their loved one go through the trial of treatment, only perhaps to lose them. Those left behind are constantly aware of the gap that is left, and often feel a need to do something positive in memory. They too need support in coming to terms with the disease.

I am looking for a team of people that would be willing to phone others and co-ordinate small groups of FoneFriends. Please let me know if you are interested in being involved, either as a co-ordinator, or if you would simply like someone to chat to. Suggestions and comments are always welcome.
