The Green Kitchen: Sustainable shopping, eating, cooking, and cleaning hacks

Imo Simmonds, Ovacome’s Sustainability Ambassador, is leading Ovacome’s transition towards operating more sustainably and reducing the charity’s carbon output. As part of this, Ovacome wants to start conversations about sustainability within our community. This includes highlighting everyday things we can all do to create more mutually beneficial relationships with our environment through our eating and cooking habits. 

Join us on Monday 11 December at 3pm to 4pm for a workshop with Imo all about sustainable shopping, eating, cooking, and cleaning hacks.

The workshop will cover cost-effective, everyday sustainable eating and kitchen tips and tricks, followed by a Q&A and the opportunity for participants share their own sustainability hacks with one another. We will cover:

• Shopping, growing and foraging for food in a sustainable way
• Zero-waste food storage alternatives
• Sustainable cookbooks and recipe websites
• Saving energy (and money) while preparing food
• Reducing food waste
• Natural cleaning products and recipes

…and more!

Attendees will receive a free kitchen sustainability starter pack containing samples of some of the products Imo will discuss.

Beyond Ovacome, Imo has been involved with sustainable food and growing projects in London and further afield for several years. Imo is an avid forager, gardener, and cook, and in 2021 she completed a masters in the Anthropology of Food.
