In 2017 my mum (Maureen) was diagnosed with a form of ovarian cancer and the process of treatment began quickly. Luckily, she is now in remission - but without the support and information from Ovacome everything would have been a lot scarier and even more confusing. Since her diagnosis my mum has been able to participate in several events (pre- lockdown) which have helped her to build her knowledge, a support network and confidence following treatment. So we want to support the charity in providing support, raising awareness and funding research into the disease and treatments. There are 41,000 women living with ovarian cancer in the UK so as one of the 41,000 acts the charity are aiming to complete to raise £41,000 during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month I am aiming to walk 41k!
If you could spare the time and money to sponsor me on my 'Teal Walk' I would be hugely grateful - it really is a hugely important cause not just to myself and my family, but to those 41,000 wome living with ovarian cancer in the UK and those who will be diagnosed in the future. Thank you!
