Impact of our support services

Ovacome provide support to anyone affected by ovarian cancer, whether they themselves have been diagnosed with the illness or they are a friend or relative of someone with the disease. We always request our members' feedback on our services and many have shared their positive experiences of receiving much-needed support from Ovacome.

.

Helen, from Bristol

“From the moment we arrived at Ovacome's Members' Day, I just felt so wrapped up in warmth. Everybody there was in the same boat and understood how I was feeling and the Ovacome staff were just so welcoming. I was so impressed with the charity and still am. I left with so much more knowledge and reassurance, having heard from experts on the latest treatments and clinical trials."

.

Jemima, from Worcestershire

"The Ovacome online forum has been an absolute life saver for me. From the moment I was diagnosed, the other members on there, plus all the information available through the site, helped me enormously. I am still an active member as for me, the fear of reoccurrence is very real (despite statistics suggesting the risk is low).  There also seem to be more and more women being diagnosed with borderline tumours and so I wish to try and help them through my own experiences, where I can."

.

Sara, from Essex

"Its charities like Ovacome that offer their help and support that are invaluable at this time."

.

Lyndsey, from East Kilbride

"I received a newsletter from a consultant, it was Ovacome. This became a little secret haven for me, reading the newsletters gave me hope of full survival and getting me back to being me. I joined the chat room and although I didn’t write much I got so much inspiration from others. These women were spectacular individuals with such an amazing outlook on life."

.

Lyndsi, from Swansea

"I can speak to someone at Ovacome regarding my anxiety, which is music to my ears and I will certainly be taking up this opportunity. Thank you."
