There are about 7000 new cases of ovarian cancer each year in the UK and it is estimated that 41,000 women in the UK are currently living with the disease.

The symptoms of ovarian cancer can be similar to other, less serious conditions, which can delay diagnosis. The ovaries lie deep in the pelvis and are difficult to examine and screen, which is another reason that this cancer can be difficult to diagnose.
