We are delighted to announce that Ovacome has been shortlisted as one of the 5 organisations that might receive up to £50,000 of National Lottery money to develop a project in the West Midlands.

We want to set up an Ovacome base in Birmingham, so that we can provide more support to women and their families living in the Midlands and the North.

But we need your vote! If successful in winning the funding we would be able to:

  • Give those affected by ovarian cancer living further north the same opportunities as those who live close to London.
  • Appoint a new member of staff in Birmingham, who will deliver Ovacome's support services in the area, helping us to offer specialist resources, personalised information and emotional support.
  • Run more regional support and wellbeing events and work with other local charities - helping to build a local community for those affected by the disease, who can offer each other encouragement, friendship, knowledge and understanding.
  • Raise awareness by giving free talks about signs and symptoms to local businesses and community groups.

We need your help to achieve all of this! Voting is now open to decide which project will receive the funding they need. You can live anywhere in the UK to vote (you do not have to live in the West Midlands), but can only vote once. Once you have voted, you must verify your vote, by clicking on the link that will be sent to your email or phone number, otherwise it will not count. If you have any trouble voting, or would like to vote by post, please contact [email protected] or call 0207 299 6658.

Voting closes on Monday 15 April at noon.
