Overall Purpose

The Board of Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing the organisational aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.

Ovacome is seeking someone with experience of accounting or as a Treasurer. Our work is to support those affected by ovarian cancer at the right time and in the right way and to this end we need to ensure that we have good cash flow and the appropriate policies and financial procedures in place.  The finances of Ovacome have been well managed for many years and there are clear processes in place for managing payments and the annual audit.

We are fully supported by Kingston Smith LLP, the accountancy firm that we use for our audit and some other services. Their scope of engagement encompasses Independent examination, accounting, advising on and dealing with tax matters, general business advice, management accounting and some book-keeping services.

We are seeking a new treasurer to take over from our current treasurer.  There will be a clear and supportive handover.  All our financial processes are online, we have a well trained staff team and we have a healthy bank balance.  The financial year runs from October to September.
