When your ovarian cancer surgery has left you with a stoma, this can be a real shock. It can leave you feeling very alone with many questions about how this will affect your day to day life. Our online stoma group is a friendly space for anyone living with a colostomy, ileostomy or urostomy to chat with others in similar circumstances. You’ll be able to share advice and experiences in a relaxed, informal environment. You do not need to stay for the whole hour and a half; you are welcome to join us for as long as you like.

We meet on the third Wednesday of every month, from 11am to 12:30pm. Please note our next session in February will be extended to two hours, as stoma nurse Barbara Milleret will be giving a talk on stoma accessories.

The group is set up and run with the help of Ovacome members who are living with a stoma. There will be a stoma nurse available for some sessions, and occasional speakers. You can join these meetings simply by dialling in on your landline or mobile phone, or you can videocall in on your latop, tablet (iPad) or smartphone if you’d like to be able to see the other group members.

Once you have registered, you will be sent an email the day before the group takes place with the Zoom details. Here is some information about how to use Zoom on different devices:

On your computer

On your smartphone or tablet (iPad)

On your landline or mobile phone
