Join us for the second Ovacome Gala in loving memory of Debbie Baldwin.

Amount raised to date £112,369

Debbie passed away on the 9th September 2021 in Holland. Debbie had a huge heart and freely provided support, friendship, strength and love to family, friends and even people she meet for the first time. Her warmth on all occasions was evident and her smile would light up the room - as mentioned "once met never forgotten".

She continually raised awareness and supported charities throughout her life with sponsored walks, runs and also climbing Kilimanjaro in 2017.

In March 2020, to mark Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, Debbie shared her story with the public in a blog article. Here she spoke of the support she received following her diagnosis of Clear Cell ovarian cancer, from her colleagues and encouraged women to be aware of the symptoms of ovarian cancer and if they experience any of the symptoms to seek medical help from their doctor.

In this blog post, Debbie said:

“The great support from family, friends and colleagues, and a positive attitude, have helped me deal with many of the challenges on this journey."

“I hope that promoting greater awareness about ovarian cancer will help other women and ultimately, save more lives.”

Debbie and her dad also did a charity walk in March 2021 to raise funds for ovarian cancer. Debbie completed 26.2 miles even though she was in the middle of a drug trial treatment which had an adverse impact on her health but she still battled through the pain to complete the walk.

Debbie had the vision to set up a gala event even though she wasn’t sure she would be able to attend. Please join us to celebrate Debbie’s life and also raise money for Ovacome, the UK’s national ovarian cancer support charity.  Ovacome have been providing personalised support and information to those diagnosed with ovarian cancer and their loved ones since 1996.

On 9 September Phil, Simon, Stuart, Dan, Steve, and Paul cycled from the London Eye to the Eiffel Tower in 23hrs 53mins on Saturday 9 September 2023, in memory of Debbie Baldwin and raised a staggering £42,572!
