Meet the speakers

  • Fiona is a Lymphoedema Clinical Specialist Nurse at The Norfolk Central Lymphoedema Team based in Norwich. They provide compression hosiery, support and guidance on lymphoedema management including scar therapy for radiotherapy damage or post op surgical scarring. In addition to her NHS role, she also does Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Scar Therapy for a local cancer charity and offers private treatment for housebound clients.
  • Pryscilla is a Specialist Physiotherapist in Lymphoedema who, in addition to the above, can also do gait assessments and create bespoke exercise programmes to reduce joint stiffness and improve range of movement globally in addition to doing scar therapy. Prior to specialising in lymphoedema, Pry worked in women's health.
  • Dee is the founder of Wise Monkey Wellbeing. She is a certified Mindset & Wellbeing Coach, mindfulness teacher and workshop leader. Dee provides bespoke solutions for individuals or organisations to help optimise wellbeing & cultivate insight, balance & resilience.
  • Faith Caton is a designer and maker who teaches accessible crafts. Having a professional background in theatre costume and bridalwear design, alongside a lifelong love of exploring many arts and crafts in her leisure time has given her a broad range of skills that she loves to share with others.

Having had first-hand experience of the impact of cancer as well as chronic illness, Faith understands the importance of finding particular crafts and ways to adapt techniques to allow for things like brain fog, neuropathy, and tiring easily, not to mention crafts that can be done to pass the time in hospital waiting rooms!

The craft for this session is tapestry using three colours of wool thread to create bold coasters that will brighten your desk or table. All materials will be provided and participants are welcome to use the time to stitch and chat with their neighbours too. Faith will be on hand to assist and answer any crafting questions.

Support available for this event

If you require support to attend one of our in-person events, please let us know when you sign up. We always ensure the venues we use are accessible for anyone with disabilities.

Some examples of support we can give include:

  • Translators including BSL. We usually require around three weeks advanced notice to allow for booking.
  • Receiving slides or information ahead of the session
  • Reserve a seat close to the speakers
  • Travel assistance - we can help you with planning your travel to our event, and where possible arrange for a member of the team to accompany you on your journey to the event if you need assistance.
  • Financial assistance – we want to ensure that Ovacome members can access the events they want to without worrying about the associated costs. For example, we can help cover the price of transport to attend an in-person event and contribute to accommodation expenses if staying away from home to join an Ovacome event. You may feel tired after attending an event.  we can arrange accommodation in advance for you so that you can rest before travelling home. Friends and family are included if they are accompanying a person with an ovarian diagnosis to our events, or if they have access needs themselves.

Please do not attend the health and wellbeing day if you have any symptoms of COVID or any other contagious illness, as some of our members are immunocompromised.

This event has been kindly funded by the Childwick Trust.

"I came out of [the event] feeling like a superwoman. All of a sudden you just think: there's all these things I can do. It's one of the most powerful things I've ever done."

- Gill who attended one of our London Health and Wellbeing Days

"Thank you for a lovely interesting day which has improved my confidence a lot."

- Caroline, who came to our Liverpool Health and Wellbeing Day

All of our online events and groups are free. However, if you can spare a few pounds to cover the cost of your registration, this will help us continue to provide free support to those who aren’t able to do so. You can make a donation when you register.
Thank you so much for your support.
