News & stories Ovacome Blog Adele's story for World Ovarian Cancer Day One of our members Adele shares her story for World Ovarian Cancer Day 2020. Each year, for the past 10 years, she has hosted the 'Touch of Teal Tea', an afternoon tea and fashion show, to support Ovacome's work and raise awareness of ovarian cancer. All models in the show will have had an ovarian cancer diagnosis at some point in their life. "My friend Juanita Cox Westmaas approached me and said that she was doing a film project with a filmmaker Nicola Zawadi Cross and wanted me to share my story. I was happy to take part as I’m committed to raising awareness about ovarian cancer. My life was going in one direction when ovarian cancer came along, seemingly from nowhere, and changed my life. I want to give people hope that there can still be a lot of years of fun and energy and happiness after a late stage cancer diagnosis." - Adele .
