Active breathing for wellbeing - 4 week course

Through controlled breath work and creative exercises, the Active Breathing Course is tailored to support recovery and long term wellbeing.

Date
Mon 2nd Mar 2026
Time
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Tickets
£0 - £20

This 4 week course will be led by Voices of Hope charity, who are dedicated to bringing hope to individuals and the wider community through food projects, women’s hubs and creative arts projects.

The Active Breathing Course (ABC) is NHS endorsed, and has been designed to improve emotional and physical wellbeing through practical, accessible techniques that help people take control of their breathing after cancer treatment— and by extension, their health. Participants will gain a toolkit of exercises they can practise independently both during and after the session — equipping them with long-term strategies to restore calm and control when facing breathlessness, anxiety, or chronic health conditions.

Please note, when you register you will be signed up for 4 weekly sessions. If you miss the first session, unfortunately your place will be cancelled for the rest of the course. Participation at all sessions is encouraged, but we understand that sometimes it's not always possible.

Support available to access online sessions

If you require support to attend one of our online sessions, please let us know when you sign up. Some examples of support we can give include:

  • Enabling translated captioning
  • Closed captioning is available on all our Zoom sessions
  • Receiving slides or information ahead of the session
  • Translators including BSL.  We usually require around three weeks advanced notice to allow for booking.
  • Tech assistance – we have a user guide to help with our online Zoom events and we are here to help people get connected. We can set up a practice Zoom meeting with a member of the Ovacome team. We can also talk through any questions you may have about this technology.
  • Financial assistance - we want to ensure that every Ovacome member can access the webinars they want to without worrying about the associated costs. For example, we can cover the internet costs for people who would like to join our online webinars.

By attending an Ovacome online event, you agree to our participation agreement, which you can read here. Please note that we will not tolerate any form of discriminatory or offensive comments during our event. Anyone who makes any comments that are deemed as such will be removed from the session.

We recommend that you use your personal email address to register for our events rather than a company address. This is for your privacy.

All of our ovarian cancer events, webinars, workshops and support groups are free. However, if you can spare a few pounds to cover the cost of your registration, this will help us continue to provide free support to those who aren’t able to do so.
