Gentle strengthening exercise class

Join Ovacome every Tuesday morning for our exercise class designed to support those diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Tickets
£0 - £20

Sarah Russell is a clinical exercise and Pilates specialist for people with cancer. She is also trained to deliver classes to those who have had stoma surgery. Sarah has a stoma herself, and offers specialist knowledge of abdominal surgery and rehab.

Sarah will offer different exercises to suit different needs and fitness levels. Her classes will be a mix of strengthening exercises, core work, and Pilates.

Please note that if you have recently had surgery you must be at least 6 weeks post-op to take part.

Please consult with your doctor before taking up any new form of exercise. Sarah's role is to provide verbal and visual guidance on how to stay active at home, and neither she nor Ovacome can accept any liability for injury. If you experience any pain or discomfort during the session, please stop immediately.

Please make sure that you have read and understood the class notice and disclaimer before registering. Click here to read the notice and disclaimer.

By attending an Ovacome online event, you agree to our participation agreement, which you can read here. Please note that we will not tolerate any form of discriminatory or offensive comments during our event. Anyone who makes any comments that are deemed as such will be removed from the session.

Support available to access online sessions

If you require support to attend one of our online sessions, please let us know when you sign up. Some examples of support we can give include:

  • Enabling translated captioning
  • Closed captioning is available on all our Zoom sessions
  • Sending out transcripts of workshop sessions (where appropriate)
  • Translators including BSL.  We usually require around three weeks advanced notice to allow for booking.
  • Tech assistance – we have a user guide to help with our online Zoom events and we are here to help people get connected. We can set up a practice Zoom meeting with a member of the Ovacome team. We can also talk through any questions you may have about this technology.
  • Financial assistance - we want to ensure that every Ovacome member can access the workshops they want to without worrying about the associated costs. For example, we can cover the internet costs for people who would like to join our online workshops.

All of our online events and groups are free. However, if you can spare a few pounds to cover the cost of your registration, this will help us continue to provide free support to those who aren’t able to do so. You can make a donation when you register below. Thank you so much for your support.
