About the sessions
Put your comfies on, make yourself a cuppa and snuggle under your favourite blanket. This is your time to relax & restore.
Each immersive meditation session crafted by Dee is unique, with a bespoke script & curated music to gently guide you to a point of stillness, where you can feel calm, safe and no longer bombarded with the ‘noise' of life.
Clearing your mind is not the objective, instead you are led to a place where you can relax & think clearly.
Everyone is welcome, whether you are new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner.
Most join us because they
- Would like a restorative experience that helps them become calm & relaxed
- Want to learn new skills to help them manage stress, anxiety & overwhelm
- Want to prioritise their emotional, physical & mental wellbeing
- Want a safe space where they have ‘permission’ to just be still and rest
- Want a little bit of time just for them
And some come because they love to come into a space where they get to lie down, snuggle up and drift away guilt free.
Here’s what happens in each session:
- You will be gently led through a short mindfulness meditation to settle you in
- Dee will then share a short reading with you around the session’s topic.
- You will then follow Dee’s voice as she takes you on a journey using guided imagery & gentle inquiry to spark your imagination, & progressive relaxation to leave you blissfully at ease as you rest.
- The session is as interactive as you want it to be, often people choose to share what came up for them in the meditation & benefit from hearing about the unique experience of others in the group. We will allow time for group discussion at the end of the session. Sharing is very welcome but not mandatory.
Dates and times of the classes
- Thursday 26 February 11.00am – 12.00 noon
- Thursday 26 March 11.00am – 12.00 noon
We have received a number of requests from members that have attended our Health & Wellbeing days or viewed the webinar for Dee to share more about Joy & Glimmers, and, as it’s her favourite subject, she has promised to sprinkle a little joy into each of the sessions.
How to book a place?
Ovacome staff are here to support you, so please get in touch if you have questions or are unsure about how to join the session.
How to prepare for the sessions
- Please find a quite space where you can sit or lie down without being disturbed
- Put your comfies on
- Gather everything you need to be cozy and warm: a drink, your favourite blanket, some cushions or pillows etc.
- Have a notebook and pen to hand
- Join us via a laptop or computer if you can, or your phone if not. Please switch your notifications off
- If you have an eye mask feel free to wear it, or alternatively have something soft to cover your eyes
- If you have headphones please wear them for a more immersive experience
- If you have other humans in the house please ask them to not disturb you while you are on the session (& add a sneaky half hour onto that if you can so you can stay in your peaceful state for a while afterwards)
- If you have pets in the house please do your best to settle them down before the session, ideally they will not be in the room with you.
- This is a camera on experience so that Dee can guide you effectively through the process. Microphones will be off until the last part of the session.
Your safety is paramount
- Please do not join the session if you are driving
- Whilst it is considered a safe practice, immersive meditation may not be suitable for people with a mental health diagnosis such as PTSD, bipolar disorder or psychosis.
