Ovacome is the national UK charity, set up by people living with ovarian cancer to provide support and information for anyone affected by the disease.
For 30 years, Ovacome has existed to meet the needs of those diagnosed and their loved ones. Today, we are a community of tens of thousands of people, all working to improve care and support for those affected by this disease.
Ovacome is a membership charity, which means that we are guided directly by the ovarian cancer community. We support anyone affected by ovarian cancer through online services and in person events; this often includes family members and healthcare professionals caring for those diagnosed.

Our story
Ovacome was founded by Sarah Dickinson in 1996. Sarah had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and found that there was little to no support or information available to those living with the disease. She sat down round a kitchen table with a group of like-minded people, and Ovacome was born. Some of our original members are still involved in the charity today.
"Ovacome is the result of my little campaign, and I can only hope that it will be a success, because the letters I received show that it is needed. I know that I have benefited tremendously by hearing from women who are going through a similar experience, and I was inspired to speak to women who have survived. I want to give this chance to others."

Equality, diversity and inclusion
Ovacome is focused on providing support to anyone affected by ovarian cancer. We work with our community and partner organisations with the aim of reducing isolation, sharing information, promoting knowledge, and supporting anyone affected by ovarian cancer. We acknowledge that some people face barriers to accessing diagnosis, treatment, and support, and we are working towards reducing barriers faced by underserved communities.
