The 5th Annual Debbie Baldwin Gala Raises Over £18,000 for Ovacome

06 Jun 2026

On Saturday 6 June, supporters gathered aboard the Tereza Joanne in London's Docklands for the 5th Annual Debbie Baldwin Gala, raising an incredible £18,149.44 including Gift Aid in support of Ovacome.

Held in memory of Debbie Baldwin – a respected lawyer, London Ambulance Service volunteer and passionate advocate for those affected by ovarian cancer – the gala continues to celebrate Debbie's life while helping to ensure that nobody has to face ovarian cancer alone.

Guests enjoyed an evening filled with fundraising, signs and symptoms awareness, fantastic food and a good boogie. The event featured a lively auction and raffle, alongside plenty of dancing and opportunities to come together in support of Ovacome's work. Throughout the evening, there was a strong sense of warmth and generosity, reflecting the spirit of the community Debbie brought together.

A highlight of the evening was a moving speech from Ovacome patron Lady Adele Sewell, who shared her personal experience of ovarian cancer and the lasting impact it has had on her life. Her honesty and openness resonated deeply with guests and served as a powerful reminder of why Ovacome's support services are so important.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Gala team, whose dedication and hard work make this wonderful event possible year after year, and to every guest, donor, prize donor and bidder who supported the evening.

A huge thank you also goes to our generous sponsors, Tina and Tony. The gala simply wouldn't have been possible without your support. Your kindness helped us go such a long way towards making the evening a success

The funds raised will help Ovacome continue providing trusted information, personalised support and a welcoming community to those affected by ovarian cancer when they need it most. We are already looking forward to the 6th Annual Debbie Baldwin Gala in 2027.
