Over 11-12 July, The Big Weekend team completed their fourth consecutive summer cycling challenge, riding an incredible 500km in just 48 hours.
Travelling across across France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy, the team pushed themselves to their physical limits to support the Ovacome community and honour their friend Debbie Baldwin, who sadly passed away from ovarian cancer in 2021.
As Rob Popham reflected:
This year, Phil, Stu, Simon, Tux, Rob, Ali, Dan, David and Steve have already raised an astonishing £41,199 to help ensure nobody affected by ovarian cancer must face the disease alone. This could fully fund our 2027 Health & Wellbeing Days in Belfast, Liverpool and Manchester – free events where people affected by ovarian cancer come together to access trusted information, hear from experts and, perhaps most importantly, connect with others who understand.
For Simon Glover, that impact is what makes every challenge worthwhile.
We cannot thank the team enough for their generosity.

“Three days of heat and hard miles teach us what cancer patients already know: you keep moving even when it burns. Every pedal stroke is proof — of resilience, of hope, of finishing strong. We ride so they know they're not alone.”

“We pedaled 500km in 48 hrs because no one should face Ovarian cancer alone. Every tough km on the bike fuels Ovacome`s vital support, giving patients, families and real healthcare heroes the strength to keep moving forwards.”
