For women with ovarian cancer, menopause can be a direct result of treatment, particularly surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Yoga offers a range of tools that may help you navigate some of its physical, cognitive and emotional effects.

In this introductory session, Louise Rogers explores what yoga can offer alongside medical care and treatment, whether you are going through treatment, adjusting to a treatment-induced menopause, or living beyond cancer.

We’ll look at how movement, breath and awareness may support the body, mind and emotions, and explore the relationship between stress, energy and the nervous system. We’ll also consider how yoga can help us develop a kinder, more trusting relationship with a changing body.

The emphasis is not on fixing or forcing anything, but on noticing what is here and asking: what does this body, mind, heart need now?

The session includes an accessible, adaptable practice with options to suit different bodies, energy levels and abilities, followed by time for questions. No previous yoga experience is needed.

About our speaker

Louise Rogers has been practising yoga for over 30 years and teaching for 15. Her work has always centred on women’s health across different life stages and transitions, including menopause, hormonal change, and healthy ageing with strength, ease and grace.

Louise has a particular interest in functional movement and healthy ageing: how we keep our bodies strong, mobile and resilient as life changes around us. She weaves mental and emotional wellbeing into everything she teaches, drawing on her background in mindfulness and her experience supporting people affected by cancer through her work with The Fountain Centre charity.

Her sessions are warm, unhurried and genuinely inclusive, with clear guidance and plenty of options so every participant can move in a way that feels right for them.
