Our coast to coast to coast bicycle venture is in memory of our wonderful friend Francine, who very sadly, lost her life to ovarian cancer, aged 36 in October 2020. We aim to ride 340 miles from Bridlington to Morecambe and back to Bridlington. Our route will include the Yorkshire Dales, York, Castle Howard and The Lake District and we aim to do all this within four days, at an average of 85 miles per day. The ride will be made even tougher by the fact we’ll have 21,000 feet of ascent.

We are passionate about the need to support earlier diagnosis of ovarian cancer, only recently was there an article in the news of a major setback in a screening trial and this is why we aim to raise money to help fund life-saving research and provide much-needed support for women, with ovarian cancer.

Taking on this major challenge is our way of raising awareness of these brilliant charitable causes and encouraging your support, so that we can help to make a difference for women with ovarian cancer.

In addition, leading local mind-athlete Tom Adams, who has written this paragraph himself, will be undertaking his own sort of a marathon, a gruelling 10,000 question quiz as his more sedentary way of providing support. All four of us would hugely appreciate your support for this very worthy cause.
