Join us in marking Ovacome's 30th anniversary...

We're raising money through our Sky Bake Sale to support Ovacome, the UK's ovarian cancer support charity.

Ovacome was founded in 1996 by Sarah Dickinson. After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, Sarah found there was little information or support available, so she gathered others around her kitchen table who shared similar experiences. Together, they created Ovacome. Nearly 30 years later, it has grown into a community of over 5,650 members, ensuring that no one has to face ovarian cancer alone.

This cause is especially close to my heart. In 2017, at just 39 years old, I was diagnosed with Stage 1C Grade 3 clear cell ovarian cancer. After surgery and six cycles of chemotherapy, I was thankfully given the all-clear. I know how fortunate I am that my cancer was found early, but many people are diagnosed too late because the symptoms can be vague and easily be mistaken for other conditions. We are raising awareness of the symptoms at work and also fundraising through our Bake Sale on Tuesday 7th July in The Hub. 

Today, Ovacome provides trusted information, a specialist support line, support groups and a welcoming community for anyone affected by ovarian cancer. As Ovacome receives no government funding, the charity relies entirely on donations and fundraising to continue providing these life-changing services.
