My Mum sadly passed away on August 27th 2016 after a short and very brave battle against Ovarian Cancer at the age of just 56.

She became very ill with the consequences of the cancer very shortly after her diagnosis in June and didn't make it to her second round of Chemotherapy.

Despite this, she remained positive throughout, even though she spent most of her time in CCU at The Royal Marsden during her illness. Doctors and nurses there were amazed at her positivity, strength and determination.

It is this positivity and determination that has inspired me to do something in her memory and to raise awareness of the disease, of which the symptoms are not always obvious.

Mum was proud of my own weight-loss achievement, I lost 6 stone through healthy eating and regular exercise and ran the 2017 London Marathon for Ovarian Cancer Action.

I'm now honoured to be running the Great North Run to support Ovacome.

Thank you for your support and wish me luck!
