Help me to make a difference to those affected by ovarian cancer
Hello! I'm running the Great North Run (my first ever half marathon!) to raise money and awareness for the brilliant Ovacome - the UK's ovarian cancer support charity.
Ovacome has supported my mum over the past 18 months and does amazing work to reduce isolation, share information, promote knowledge and support anyone affected by ovarian cancer.
The symptoms can be hard to diagnose because they can be similar to more common and less serious conditions. The most common symptoms of ovarian cancer are:
- Persistent bloating of the abdomen
- Difficulty eating and feeling full quickly
- Persistent abdominal and pelvic pain
- Changes in urination or bowel habit
.Other symptoms can include:
- Extreme tiredness or fatigue
- Vaginal bleeding
- Weight loss
Ovacome receives no government funding and so relies on its donors and fundraisers to make its life-changing work possible.
