We’re taking on the 2026 London Marathon for Ovacome – and we’d love your support 🏃♀️🏃♀️
The giant ovary is back!
Dr Rowan Miller will once again be running the London Marathon dressed as a giant ovary to raise money for Ovacome and this year she’ll be joined by her colleague Harriet who’ll be running alongside her.
We both work in gynaecological oncology at UCLH, supporting people diagnosed with ovarian cancer and their families. Rowan is a Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in gynaecological cancers and clinical trials, and Harriet has worked in oncology since qualifying and has been a Gynae-Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist for nearly six years.
In our day-to-day work we see just how challenging an ovarian cancer diagnosis can be and how important it is for people to have access to clear information, specialist support and a community who understands what they’re going through.
That’s why we’re running for Ovacome!
Ovacome provides expert support, trustworthy information and a welcoming community for anyone affected by ovarian cancer – whether you’re living with the disease, supporting someone who is, or worried about your risk. It’s a charity we know many patients and families find invaluable.
If running 26.2 miles – with one runner dressed as a giant ovary – helps start a few conversations about ovarian cancer and raises vital funds for this work, then it’s absolutely worth it.
Every donation, big or small, helps Ovacome continue supporting people affected across the UK. For example:
£28 could provide an hour of one-to-one specialist support.
£124 could help run an in-person support group session for people affected by ovarian cancer.
