Who is the group for?
The Ovacome recurrence of ovarian cancer support group is for those with a recurrence of ovarian cancer.
Cancer recurrence is defined as the return of cancer after a period of remission or treatment, where the disease was previously undetectable. It occurs because some cancer cells remained in the body, growing over time. Recurrent cancer is the same type of cell as the original cancer, even if it appears elsewhere. To respect everyone's privacy we ask that when joining an online support group, please ensure you are in a private space where yourself and others on the call cannot be overheard. If you are not in a private space please use headphones; this is to protect everyone's privacy
When does the group take place?
We meet online from 11am to 12:30pm on the third Thursday of every month.
How do I register?
You can register to join our recurrence of ovarian cancer group below and we will add you to the group mailing list. Each month you will be sent an email one week before the group is due to take place, asking you to confirm if you will be attending. Once you have confirmed your attendance, the joining instructions will be sent to you the day before the group takes places. You can ask to be removed from the group mailing list at any time. If you register to join and the next group is due to take place in less than a week's time we will send you the joining instructions the day before the group takes place. After this you will be sent an email each month to confirm your attendance as previously described.
If you do not receive these emails from Ovacome, please check you email junk folder. Please call 0800 008 7054 if you have any queries.

What support can Ovacome offer me to attend online sessions?
If you require support to attend one of our online sessions, please let us know when you sign up. Some examples of support we can give include:
- Enabling translated captioning
- Closed captioning is available on all our Zoom sessions
- Translators including British Sign Language (BSL). We usually require around three weeks advanced notice to allow for booking.
- Tech assistance – we have a user guide to help with our online Zoom events and we are here to help people get connected. We can set up a practice Zoom meeting with a member of the Ovacome team. We can also talk through any questions you may have about this technology.
- Financial assistance - we want to ensure that Ovacome members can access the support groups they want to without worrying about the associated costs. For example, we can cover the internet costs for people who would like to join our online support groups. For more information please see: Financial assistance
By attending an Ovacome online event, you agree to our participation agreement, which you can read here. Please note that we will not tolerate any form of discriminatory or offensive comments during our event. Anyone who makes any comments that are deemed as such will be removed from the session.
We recommend that you use your personal email address to register for our events rather than a company address. This is for your privacy.
