Fundraising Volunteer – Touch of Teal 2026 Research
(Flexible, home-based)
About Ovacome
Ovacome has been providing support and information to people affected by ovarian cancer since 1996. We run a wide range of services including a support line, peer support groups, awareness campaigns, and health and wellbeing events across the UK. Guided by the voices of our service users, we strive to ensure that anyone affected by ovarian cancer – whether living with a diagnosis, concerned about their risk, supporting a loved one, or working as a healthcare professional – feels heard, informed and part of a compassionate and empowering community.
About Touch of Teal
The annual Touch of Teal Tea with Ovacome is held by Lady Adele Sewell MBE in aid of Ovacome’s life-changing support services. The event was established in 2010 and attracts guests from all over the UK. Touch of Teal is an empowering and inspiring community event that encourages 12 models, all living with an ovarian cancer diagnosis, to take centre stage. The event is a catwalk and champagne afternoon tea, held in the prestigious May Fair Hotel in London on Saturday 12 September 2026. The event empowers the models to put themselves out there and feel confident, inspiring hope and positivity.
The role
Preparations are well underway for the annual Touch of Teal event. The event showcases a highly anticipated raffle and auction and often offers specially curated goodie bags for each guest. We are seeking someone who can dedicate a few hours a week to researching potential raffle, auction, and goodie bag prize donors so that we have a wonderful array of items at this year’s event. Aided by Molly, Ovacome’s Community Fundraising Officer, you will create a spreadsheet of donors for each category, so that Molly can use this information to send personalised emails to each potential donor. You will also have the opportunity to walk around the Mayfair area with Molly and Lady Adele Sewell on Thursday, 4 June 2026, to speak to shops in person about donating prizes for the event. This is a brilliant opportunity to contribute to a major fundraising event in aid of Ovacome, as well as working alongside Ovacome’s small and friendly fundraising team. You are also more than welcome to volunteer at the event itself, on Saturday 12 September 2026.
Your tasks will be:
- Researching potential prize donors and organisations, catering to the Touch of Teal audience.
- Researching companies and organisations that would be relevant to the event and passing on this information to the team so we can personalise our email correspondence.
- Accompanying Molly and Adele on 4 June 2026 in the May Fair area to speak to shops in person about donating a prize/s to the event.
- (optional) joining the Touch of Teal volunteer team on 12 September 2026 and helping throughout the day where needed.
What we’re looking for:
- Friendly, compassionate and reliable
- Good attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills are a plus (training can be given)
- An interest in Ovacome and our work, and enthusiasm to help us provide vital support to the ovarian cancer community
- No previous experience required – just a positive attitude, eagerness to help and willingness to learn new skills!
Why Volunteer with Ovacome?
- Make a tangible difference to the lives of people affected by ovarian cancer
- Gain valuable experience and learn new skills
- Work in a supportive and inclusive team environment
- Flexible hours with the opportunity to volunteer from our central London office
- Be part of a charity that values the voices of those we serve
- Reimbursement of travel, meals and other agreed out of pocket expenses
When am I needed?
We know that life can be busy, so we’ve made sure that volunteering with us is super flexible, and we are happy to work around your schedule. Whilst the majority of these tasks are home based, you are always welcome to join us at our office in London any time Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
