Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month 2025
Every September during Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month, we raise awareness of ovarian cancer as one of the five gynaecological cancers.
Despite being the sixth most common cancer among women in the UK, with 21 people diagnosed every day, ovarian cancer is still not widely known or recognised.
Awareness of the signs and symptoms is low, and most cases are diagnosed at a later stage, when treatment is more complex and outcomes more uncertain.
Ovacome is the UK’s national ovarian cancer support charity. We offer reliable information, emotional support, and a welcoming community for anyone affected – whether you're living with a diagnosis, supporting someone who is, or concerned about your own or a loved one’s risk. We also work to raise vital awareness through our BEAT campaign and other initiatives. We are involved in leading change through policy and research for those affected by ovarian cancer, now and for future generations.
In September 2025, our community came together to make an incredible impact. Thanks to the kindness of our donors and fundraisers, we raised £79,807, exceeding our £75,000 target! Your support means we can continue reaching people with vital awareness and information materials to improve detection and ensure that everyone affected by ovarian cancer has access to the specialist support they need.

Joyce has been living alongside an ovarian cancer diagnosis for 23 years and wants to give hope to other women.
We’re working to ensure that no barriers exist to people accessing the support they need. That’s why we provide information and support in other languages and provide a translation service. We also have EasyRead booklets available about ovarian cancer which can be found in our information resources.
