I’m taking on the 2027 London Marathon for Ovacome in memory of Julie, and I’d love your support 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

In April 2027, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon in memory of Nanny Julie, in support of Ovacome, a charity that holds a special place in our family’s heart.

Julie was diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer in 2007, unfortunately misdiagnosed as IBS prior to that. After a four-year battle, alongside surgeries and chemotherapy, she sadly passed away in 2011. Her loss had a huge impact on our family, including Grandad Bobby, who we sadly lost shortly afterwards. Their story is a reminder of just how deeply cancer can affect not only those diagnosed, but everyone who loves them.

Ovacome has given our family a way to honour their memory, with my mum being one of their biggest supporters. I’ve always admired her dedication to a cause so close to our hearts, and now it’s my turn to play a part in raising awareness and supporting their work.

No marathon could ever compare to what Julie went through, and one thing I’ll always admire is how she managed to keep a smile on her face throughout it all. I suspect there’ll be considerably less smiling from me over 26.2 miles, but I hope to show even a fraction of the determination and strength she did.

I’m dedicating this challenge to Nanny Julie, as well as my mum and all the work she’s done in Julie’s memory. I’ll be setting myself some ambitious goals along the way, and I hope you’ll follow my journey and help me make every mile count.

If you’re able to spare any amount, no matter how small, I’d be incredibly grateful. If you can’t donate, sharing this page to help spread awareness of the signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer would mean just as much. Thank you for your support!
