In Loving Memory of Anne Rogers

In loving memory of Anne Rogers

This page is dedicated to my beautiful Mum. She was a truly extraordinary woman. A loyal wife, a devoted mum, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and an exceptional friend to so many. During her lifetime, she was a dedicated specialist teacher, passionate about helping those less fortunate and making a difference wherever she could.

To honour and celebrate my Mum’s memory, I’m raising money for Ovacome to help create “self-care boxes” for those living with ovarian cancer, and for the people who care for them. Each box brings together a collection of carefully chosen items, selected by patients and families who understand this journey first-hand, offering both practical support and moments of comfort when they are needed most.

Ovacome holds a very special place in my heart, especially as my Mum was seen by Dr Gordon Jayson, one of their specialist doctors. He gave her something so important compassion, kindness, and hope. She always spoke about how much that meant to her, describing it in her own words as “invaluable.” Any donations, no matter how small, would be truly appreciated and will help support others who need that same care and kindness.

Finally, my last words are for you, my darling Mama. I will love you always and miss you forever. The love you gave me continues to guide my steps, just as your hand once did. It was an honour to be yours, and I am truly privileged that you were mine. Until we meet again.

Self Care Boxes Stage 2

Wednesday 12th Aug

A total of 47 people responded to the survey, providing valuable recommendations on companies and products they found beneficial during their treatment. Suggestions included products to help manage hair loss, as well as a variety of oils to support stoma bag care and scar management.

This feedback has been instrumental in shaping the next phase of the project. We have agreed to develop a range of support boxes tailored to different stages of a patient’s journey, for example diagnosis, surgery, treatment side effects, and hospital admission. The insights shared by respondents have helped us identify which items would be most beneficial at each stage and the purpose they would serve, ensuring that the boxes provide practical and meaningful support.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who took the time to share their experiences and suggestions. Their contributions will play a key role in helping us create resources that are relevant, supportive, and responsive to patients’ needs as the project moves forward.

Self Care Boxes Project

Saturday 6th Jun
Hi all,

Since March 2026, I have been collaborating with Ovacome to develop self-care boxes to support individuals living with ovarian cancer, as well as the loved ones who care for them. Created through love, loss, and compassion, these boxes aim to offer comfort, care, and support to those facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

At the end of May, Ovacome sent out a short survey to its members to gather feedback on which products and brands they find useful - or not so useful - to help inform the creation of these self care boxes. The survey will remain live until the end of July and I'm please to share that work on the project has now officially begun!
