Support Ovacome through the annual Touch of Teal Tea!

A note from Lady Adele Sewell MBE, event organiser and Patron of Ovacome…

For me, organising Touch of Teal each year is a labour of love. I have 3 key motivations. 

The first of these is to raise awareness about ovarian cancer. The importance of raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer should not be minimised. As someone who has been diagnosed with both breast and ovarian cancer, I can say that while my diagnosis of breast cancer came within a month of me presenting at my GP with symptoms, it took 18 months and several visits to the doctor before I was able to get a diagnosis of ovarian cancer. As we all know, the longer it takes to get a diagnosis, the poorer the prognosis as the cancer has had time to spread.

My second motivation is to ensure that the women who take part in our show have an amazing time. We do our best to ensure that the models have a fantastic experience each time we meet prior to the event, and especially on event day.

My third motivation is to raise funds for Ovacome.Ovacome does not get any government funding, so it is so important that we are able to have events like these. 

Ovacome wouldn't exist or be able to offer our services without the support of this wonderful community. As a small charity that receives no government funding, our donors and fundraisers are our lifeline, and we wouldn’t be able to make such an impact without events such as Touch of Teal.

Just £28 could help to provide an hour of 1-2-1 specialist support for someone affected by ovarian cancer. £124 could help to provide an in-person support group session for 12 people. £1,500 could cover the costs of running their Members Series webinars for 1 year. That's 6 sessions reaching 150 people per webinar featuring personal stories from those living with ovarian cancer. £7,200 could cover the costs of providing a Health and Wellbeing day. Whatever you can give, every penny raised will go towards Ovacome’s life-changing work and will change lives.
