Rarer subtypes of ovarian cancer

Professor Gourley discusses the rarer subtypes of ovarian cancer and the latest research. Previously ovarian cancer treatment strategies have treated all ovarian cancers the same way. It is now clear that ovarian cancer is not one but many different diseases and that they cannot be treated in the same way. This webinar focuses on subtypes such as low grade serous, clear cell and mucinous and how this is offering new clinical trial opportunities for patients.

Genetic testing
Dr Terri McVeigh is a consultant clinical geneticist specializing in cancer genetics. Dr McVeigh has a special interest in clinical education, the application of genomic testing to direct cancer treatment and cancer credisposition in children, adolescents and adults (syndromic and non-syndromic). In this webinar, Dr McVeigh discusses NHS genetic testing, including Lynch syndrome, and provides an explanation around molecular profiling. She guides us through a general overview of the genetic basis of ovarian cancer – including tumour and hereditary genetics and the type of genetic testing offered to newly diagnosed patients, as well as implications for treatment.
